Bayview Patio Furniture - Returns and Refund Policy
At Bayview Patio Furniture Center, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. We understand that buying furniture online can be a significant decision, and we want to make the process as easy as possible.
Considering a Purchase?
If you're unsure about purchasing a full set, we recommend ordering a single chair first. This allows you to assess the quality and comfort of our furniture firsthand, and it's much simpler to return a single chair than a larger shipment if it doesn't meet your expectations.
Initiating a Return
If for any reason you do not want an item that has been shipped or delivered, you can return it to us. Please contact our Sales Team at (650) 350-0122 within 14 days of receiving your item(s). The 14-day period begins on the day after you receive your delivery.
Return Condition and Packaging
All returned furniture must be in its original condition and original packaging, with no damage to the packaging. We will arrange the pick up time and day once all return items are ready to be returned in full packaging as explained below. Please read.
Refund Process
- For returns of unwanted items, a full refund will be issued minus the two-way shipping charges.
- If you are returning an item due to damage, please contact us immediately. We are committed to making it right and will work with you to resolve the issue.
- Once we receive your returned item(s) and confirm their condition, a full refund will be processed within 5 business days.
General Shipping Standards for Returns via Freight (LTL - Less-than-Truckload)
For larger items typically shipped via LTL freight, adhering to these general packaging standards is crucial to ensure a smooth return process and minimize the risk of damage:
- Disassembly: Bag and label all hardware securely.
-
Protection:
- Cushioning: Use ample cushioning materials such as bubble wrap, foam sheets, or moving blankets to protect all surfaces, especially corners, edges, and delicate parts.
- Covering: Cover the entire piece with a protective sheet, plastic stretch wrap, or moving blankets to guard against dirt, moisture, and surface damage.
-
Boxing/Crating:
- Boxing: Whenever feasible, box the furniture. Use sturdy, appropriately sized corrugated cardboard boxes. Fill any empty spaces within the box with packing peanuts or crumpled paper to prevent shifting.
- Crating: For highly valuable, fragile, or unusually shaped items, consider crating. Wooden crates offer superior protection against jarring, bumping, and crushing.
-
Palletization:
- Base: All LTL freight returns must be secured to a sturdy pallet (e.g., a 40" x 48" GMA pallet is common). Ensure the pallet is in good condition with no protruding nails or splinters.
- Stacking: Stack items squarely on the pallet, distributing weight evenly. Heavier items should be at the bottom, with lighter items on top. Avoid any overhang beyond the pallet's edges.
- Securing to Pallet: Use heavy-duty stretch wrap, plastic strapping, or metal banding to securely fasten the furniture to the pallet. Ensure the wrap overlaps significantly (at least 50%) for stability, starting from the base and working upwards.
-
Labeling:
- Clear and Legible: Use large, bold, and clear labels that are easy to read from a distance.
- Essential Information: Include the return address, our Bayview Patio Furniture Center address, and any specific return authorization numbers provided by our Sales Team.
- Handling Instructions: Clearly mark "FRAGILE," "HANDLE WITH CARE," "THIS SIDE UP" (with arrows), and "DO NOT STACK" if applicable.
- Multi-piece Shipments: For returns with multiple pieces, label each piece numerically (e.g., "1 of 3," "2 of 3").
- Documentation: Ensure a copy of the Bill of Lading (BOL) is attached to the shipment, accurately detailing the contents and any special handling instructions.
We highly recommend documenting the condition of the furniture with detailed photos before packaging and shipping for your records.
